Anne Ruth Scott went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her home in Clinton, surrounded by her husband of 63 years, Homer, and her loving family. She was 81.

A native of Kosciusko and born on November 11, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Clelle and Sally Mae Shelley Sosebee.

Anne was a devoted and exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She doted on her family, filling her home and the seasons with warmth, merriment, and love. She was a talented cook, always preparing delightful holiday feasts for her family and friends. From a young age, she was especially fond of animals, nature and flowers, spending much time in the outdoors, gardening, traveling and serving others.

A longtime, active member of Van Winkle Baptist Church, she later attended Parkway Baptist Church. She was dedicated to the children's ministry, teaching Sunday school for over 30 years. She also enjoyed leading and making many happy memories with the young-at-heart seniors. She will be remembered for her ever-present joyful spirit and servant heart, and her living a life with humility and grace.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Terry Scott; sisters, Lynn Moore and Mae Lois Duran; brothers, Mickey Ballard and John R. Ballard; and her step father, H.D. Ballard.

She is survived by her husband, Homer Scott; daughters, Cindy Curan (Terry), of Ocean Springs and Cheryl Scott, of Jackson; granddaughter, Leah Gregory (Roger), of Clinton; grandson, Scott Gambill, of Jackson; great grandchildren, Lachlyn, Alexander, and Elizabeth Gregory, of Clinton; and a host of much loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Pavilion located at the front entrance of Lakewood Memorial Park, the Rev. Ken Anderson, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Anne's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or visit www.stjude.org/donate.
