OBITUARY OF ALFRED STIDHAM
CYRIL- Services long-time Cyril resident
for Alfred Alonzo Stidham,85, will be held
at 2 P.M. Monday, Oct. 17, at the First
Baptist Church in Cyril with the pastor,
the Rev. Charles Echols, officiating.
Mr. Stidham was born May 13, 1920 in
Wellington, Texas to William
Wesley and Mary Frances Stone
Stidham, and was called Home by the
Lord on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2205 in
Oklahoma City.
He was united in marriage to the
former Margaret Krupka, and from this
union was born one son.
He was also preceded in death by
his parents, and 13 brother and
sisters.
Mr. Stidham was a veteran of the
United States Army, and served his
country during World War II.
He was a farmer by trade. He enjoyed
tilling the soil and raising cattle.
He played the guitar, fiddle, bass
and piano. He played at all the
nursing homes in the area and was an
avid musician. He played at Traders
in Anadarko and the VFW in Lawton.
He loved the Lord and was so very
thankful for all God had blessed him
with.
He loved his family and friends very
much. He will be greatly missed by all
who know and loved him.
Survivors include his son and
daughter-in-law, Gene and Vickie
Stidham of Anadarko; three grand-
children, Cody Stidham and Katie
Stidham of Anadarko; and Kelly Ruiz
and her husband, Robert of Austin,
Texas; one great-grandson,
Roberto Ruiz III of Austin; two
step-daughters and their husbands,
Tammy and Bill Brown, and Terri and
Wayne Walters, all of Cyril; seven
step-grandchildren, Jason, Amber,
Keila,Clayton, Jeremy,Matt and Luke;
numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and
many, many friends, and his dog and
faithful companion Shorty.
Burial will be in Anadarko's Memory
Lane Cemetery under the direction of
Smith-Hackney Funeral Home of Anadarko.

Gene (Alfred's son) said that Alfred
played in a band called the Oltimers.
They play at Rest Homes and several
different places. The others in the
band were Floyd Dorsey, Skip Kotes
Howard Homelton and Allbray. They
played with Alfred for the last 2
years of his life.

At Alfred's funeral a friend told the
story of how him and Alfred would set up
at the local Wal-Mart and check out the
women who were not wearing wedding rings.
(they were both in their 80's when they
were doing this)
