Mary S. Cardona,73, of Yuma formerly of Ft. Morgan, died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Mary was born July 25, 1934 in Westphalia, Texas to Simon and Eusevia (Canales) Segura. She married Jose Cardona on July 25, 1958 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Yuma.
Mary enjoyed reading and making quilts. She also volunteered her time at a second hand store and would help translate at the Yuma Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Jose of Yuma, seven sons, Juan Luis Aguilar of Ft. Collins, Enrique Cardona, Simon Cardona and Jesse Cardona all of Ft. Morgan, Joe Cardona Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida, Alfredo Cardona or Meridian, Mississipi and Albert Cardona of Commerce City, Colorado, two daughters, Josie Sifuentez of Newark, Texas and Lillian Zavala of Aurora, Colorado, five sisters, Juana Rivera of Encarnancion De Diaz Jalisco, Mexico, Micaela Segura Villa of Greeley, Victoria Segura Reyes of Ft. Morgan, Dominaga Segura Leon of Wiggins, Petra Segura Ruiz of Hale Center Texas, two brothers, Raymond Segura of Log Lane Village and Joe Segura of Ft. Morgan, thirty-four grandchildren and thirty-four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son Gilbert Cardona.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 21, 2007 from 12 noon until 7:00 pm at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary in Ft. Morgan.
A Rosary Vigil will follow Wednesday the 21st at 7:00 PM at the Heer & Jolliffe Mortuary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 23, 2007 at 10:30 am at St. Helena Catholic Church in Ft. Morgan. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Ft. Morgan.
