Sheridan Man Found Dead on Farm Lawn
---ALBION--James Kellogg, 53, was found dead on the front lawn of his home on the Territorial road in Sheridan township with a shotgun wound in his abdomen at 6 p. m. Monday.
---A gun lay nearby and coroner R. D. Scott of Marshall, who said there would be no inquest, said it was a suicide case.
---An unidentified boy first found Mr. Kellogg's body and told his father, who summoned sheriff's officers. Mrs. Kellogg was reported to have been in Albion shopping at the time. Officers did not learn what motives may have prompted Mr. Kellogg to take his own life.
---Mr. Kellogg was born May 27, 1899 in Springport, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kellogg and had resided in the Albion area all his life. In September of 1919 he married Mahalah Allison of Springport. He was a molder at the Ideal Castings Co. plant. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Thomas of Albion and Laverne of Battle Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Thompson of Albion; his mother of Springport; four brothers, Michael and William of Albion and Coy and Jesse of Battle creek; and a sister, Mrs. George Hudson of Battle Creek.
