Darlington--August H. Petersen, 58, of Darlington, died Monday at a Dodgeville Hospital after a week's illness.
A printer by trade, he had worked on newspapers in various parts of the country. For the last 14 years, he had been a printer for the Darlington Democrat and the Buyers' Bulletin. He was born in Madison, Nebraska.
The body was taken to the Nelson Sharer Funeral Home of Darlington, Wisconsin.
Mr. Petersen has a son, William [Clayton Petersen], at Milwaukee, and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. J. J. Lippoldt officiating and burial in Union Grove cemetery.
August Henry Petersen was born on 1 June 1890 in Madison, Nebraska, the son of August Petersen (1854-1922) and Christine Jacobsen Petersen (1853-1928). He was raised in Madison County, NE. He was married to Edythe Christine Clayton (1896-1965) on 11 December 1915 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They had one son, William Clayton Petersen (1921-2001). They were divorced around 1932. He worked as a printing company superintendent. He died on 9 August 1948 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin at the age of 58.
