Mr. Leist was born Jan. 16, 1900, in Richland County, the son of Reason and Ida (Preston) Leist. He married Maude Atkins Aug. 13, 1942, and she survives.
He was a retired construction worker and painter; and was a member of the Claremont Methodist Church.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mary Ivy, Bedford, Ind.; a grandchild, Mary Armour; a great-
grandchild, Daniel Lee Armour; several nieces and a great-nephew, Dan Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James E. Leist; three brothers, Jacob, Charles, and
George; and a sister, Jenny Eagleson.
