Judith Anne Witmer, 55, of 198 Creek Drive, Millersville, died Monday night at home after a long battle with cancer.
Mrs Witmer was a health and physical education teacher in Penn Manor School District from 1969 to 1976 and in Manheim Central School District from 1986 to 1999.
A 1965 graduate of Hempfield High School, she earned a bachelor's degree in 1969 and a master's degree in 1973 from West Chester University.
She was a member of Stehman Memorial United Methodist Church, Millersville.
Mrs Witmer was a softball player. She also enjoyed arts and crafts.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Pauline T Earhart Bigler of Landisville and the late John M Bigler.
She was married 30 years on Dec. 31 to Glenn R. Witmer.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are a son, Randy L., husband of LeAnn Witmer of Landisville; a daughter, Jennifer L. Witmer of Lancaster; and two brothers, Jack, husband of Nancy Bigler of Toledo, Ohio, and Terry Bigler of Ephrata.
