Donald V. Olson, age 92, of Manitowoc, passed away peacefully at home with his daughter by his side on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.

Donald was born on August 3, 1929 in Manitowoc to the late Henry and Ellen (Fink) Olson. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947, then briefly served in the Navy. On August 20, 1955, Donald married the former Audrey Bushman at First Reformed Church in Manitowoc. Donald worked for many years as a machine operator at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company from which he retired in 1991. After his retirement he continued to work part time for ten years at Manitowoc Tool and Machining.

Donald was a part of bowling and pool leagues for many years and was a member of the AMVETS. He was known for his great singing voice, and sang in the church choir at St. John's United Church of Christ and the Clipper City Chordsmen. He enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing and armchair coaching the Packers. Every day he would play King's Corners with Audrey and unfortunately, she would always win. Donald enjoyed taking summer trips to the cottage in Shawano and Chaudoir's Dock with his family as well as traveling with his wife Audrey and their bus trips with close friends. One of his favorite hobbies was having happy hour and trying new beers or enjoying his favorites.

Survivors include five children, Terry Olson of Cedarburg, Alan (Yolanda) Olson of Scottsdale, Arizona, Todd (Lori) Olson of Manitowoc, Gary (Tricia) Olson of Manitowoc, and Susan (Dave) Logan of Simi Valley, California; seven grandchildren, Dave, Tyler, Alysa (Jared), Joshua (special friend, Olivia), Callie, Libby, and Mason; three great-grandchildren, Liam, Silas, and Audrey; and sister-in-law/birthday twin, Ruth Bushman of Manitowoc.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey; parents, Henry and Ellen Olson; brothers, Harlan, Del, and Charles Olson; and daughter-in-law, Marjorie Olson.
