James H. Taylor, age 88, of Two Rivers, a true believer in Christ, passed away Monday evening, August 16, 2021 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc with his loving family at his side.

Jim was born on August 14, 1933 in Two Rivers, son of the late Harold and Gladys (Strutz) Taylor. He attended Two Creeks School and Middle School and graduated with the class of 1951 from Two Rivers Washington High School. After graduation Jim served four years in the U.S. Coast Guard returning home and marrying the love of his life the former Joan A. Wilson on October 25, 1958 in Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2015. Jim was employed at Fisher Hamilton's for 40 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ for 45 years. Jim was fortunate to reside in his home with 24/7 care for the last year until his last 3 weeks due to complications of a short illness. His 7 children gave him care and comfort at home along with his special team of caregivers. Thank you, Sara, Liz, Caisey, Simeon, Gail, Emily, Selena and Debby. All of you were appreciated and Jim enjoyed his time with each of you. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, playing blackjack and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his seven children and their spouses: Sharon Litel, Two Rivers, Jill (Robin) Kumbalek, Manitowoc, Judy (Dean) Avery, Manitowoc, Joyce (Todd) Tome, Two Rivers, Brian (Tina) Taylor, Two Rivers, Wayne (Lisa) Taylor, Two Rivers, Paul (Tracy) Taylor, Two Rivers; 16 grandchildren: Craig (Sarah) Litel, Matraca & Emily Kumbalek, Tyler (Alicia) Avery, Angela Avery, Taya Tome, Tanner Tome and his fiancée: Katia, Ashley, Dylan & Brianna Taylor, Derek, Mitchell, Adam & Alissa Taylor, Samantha & Brandon Taylor; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Don Taylor, Green Bay, George (Genevieve) Taylor, Two Creeks; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Diane (Jack) Weber, Larrabee, Nancy (Gary) Rabas, Denmark, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Gladys Taylor; loving wife: Joan Taylor; one son-in-law: Kriss Litel; one great-granddaughter: Adalynn Rae; one brother: Robert (Darlene VanderBloomen) Taylor; one sister and brother-in-law: Jane (Bob) Allie.

A private family service will be held at a later date at Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Pastor Colie Bettivia will officiate. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com

Dad is gone but will never be forgotten. Everyone who knew him said he was a sweet and kind man. Always pleasant to talk to. He will be remembered and missed by many.
