Peter Nelson Ketron was the son of
Allen Emanuel Cattron and Sarah
Elizabeth 'Crawford' Cattron.


Peter married Sarah Frances Spurrier
6 Oct.1872, in Sullivan County,
Tennessee. They were married by George
Foust, a Justice of the Peace.
NOTE: I have a copy of their marriage
certificate.

To this union:seven children were born.

Mary died in Fairland. She had one known
daughter, Essie LaMar, who died at the
age of 15, she was married
and to Clarence Parsons, in Vinita,
Craig Co., Oklahoma, no children.

d. 11 June,1953 in Disney,Ok.

Lottie Lucinda Ketron, b.11 Sept.1880,
d. 08,Jun,1956 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She was married to Edward Nathaniel Eads,
on February 18, 1900 in Fayetteville,
Arkansas. Seven known children: Edna Mabel,
James Everett, Sarah Grae, William Roy,
Thomas Thurman, Hazel Amanda, and George
Washington.

Logan Co. Va,
d. 20 Sept.1956 in Vinita,Ok. m.(2 times)

P.N. KETRON OF AFTON DIES AT 85
Afton, July 27 (special)
P. N. Ketron, 85 years old, died at
his home here at 5 o'clock Thursday
afternoon.
Besides his wife, he is survived by
two sons, Tom and William Ketron, both
of Afton; four daughters, Mrs. Maggie
Long of Afton, Mrs. Ollie Eades of
Fayetteville, Ark.; Mrs. Mary Marsons
of Zena,Okla.; and Mrs. Cora Beck of
Riley, Kas.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Heart
of Cawker City, Kas.; Funeral services
were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon
at the First Baptist Church here. Burial
was in the Sixkiller Cemetery under
direction of the Lane Funeral Home.
The Rev. Elmer Reynolds offficted.

Long was my Grandmother. I'm Phyllis Ann
"Long" Rhodes, the youngest daughter of
Maggie's son, Ray A. Long.
I was born & raised in Afton, Ok.
Grandmother Maggie was ill when I was born.
She was taken to Tulsa, Oklahoma and
lived there for abt. 3 years. She died when
I was 3. I sadly don't remember her. I do
however, have fond memories of her brother,
my Great Uncle Will.

UPDATE: As of May, 2016, my (PALR) great
grandparents have new markers. I am proud
to say I had them made and so happy
Peter and Sarah now have stones. They had
never had one and in honor of them and my
Daddy, Ray Long, they do now. It has their
names, dates and are very nice.

NOTE: The surname of Ketron has several
different spellings. The name was Kettenring,
Cattron, Catron & Ketron.
