Mrs. Alvis was born at Mansfield, Illinois, October 12, 1919, the d/o John Clarence Hannah and Hattie Mae Montgomery. She leaves her mother; two daughters: Mrs. JoAnn Gust, Indianapolis; and Mrs. Jeanine McHenry, Champaign; four sons: John and Jerry, both of Champaign; and Jack and Jimmy Joe at home; her brothers: Arthur "Mike" of Greenup; Richard "Corky" of Mansfield; a sister: Mrs. Frances Trulock, Tucson, Arizona; and five grandchildren.
She was a member of the Mansfield American Legion Auxiliary. She graduated from Mansfield High School with the Class of 1937 and for several years was a clerk at Stauffer's Market in Mansfield.
