Stephen was born June 2,1965 , and adopted by Loring Banes and Sara Ann Strain Sands. He attended Danville High school.
He is survived by long time (20 years) partner Elfreeda Crawley , his parents, a brother John (Kelly ) Sands, a sister Lori (Tracy) Enos, Megan Sands-Daughter, Keefe-Ryan Davis Sands and Stephen Caleb Sands-sons, two step-children-Martha (Olugbemiga) Adekunle, Michel Crawley, grandchildren-Abbagayle Crawley, Oludara and Elina Adekunle, two special Freinds- Sean Mikel and Paul Brenniger.
Steve was an avid wrestling and Pink Floyd fan. He was a very knowledgeable about music and movies trivia. He enjoyed sitting on the porch with Elfreeda, and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be happily remembered by all. He will be missed for his humor and kindness to others. He was an Organ Donor. He was a big animal lover leaving behind several cats and dogs.
He was preceded in death by two of his children- Krya Delyn Sands, and Colin Mathew Sands.
