Graveside services for Lacy J. "L.J." Phillips, Jr., 82, Overton are scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 3 at the Overton City Cemetery with Revered Eddy Secrest officiating, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Mr. Phillips died Saturday, October 31, in an Overton nursing home. He was born December 27, 1926, in Arkansas to the late Lacy J. Phillips, Sr. and Icy Thornton Phillips.
He a longtime resident of Overton. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Amoco Oil Company. Mr. Phillips was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Phillips, January 19, 2007, and by his son, Gary Phillips, Sr., June 27, 2009. Survivors include a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Mark and Martha Phillips, Overton; daughter-in-law, Barbara Phillips, Overton; and great-grandson, Ty Phillips.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Residents Christmas Fund at the Overton Health Care Center. Honorary Pallbearers will be James McCarty and the other residents and employees of the Overton Health Care Center.
