Shelby J. Steele, 67, of Green Valley, formerly of Welch and Davy, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 22, 2007 at the residence of her daughter.

On May 1, 1940, Shelby was the eighth child born to Kelly and Rosie Walker Mullins. Shelby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Other than her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit "Buddy" Steele Sr.; three sisters, Nevillee Blaylock, Hallie Patrick and Nannie Richards; three brothers, Hubert Mullins, Kelly "Woody" Mullins and Frank Mullins and one niece, Shirley Minier.

Left to cherish her memories are one daughter, Trilby Freeman and her husband Freddie of Green Valley with whom she made her home; one son, Kermit "Jake" Steele and his wife Debbie of Green Valley; two granddaughters, Ashleigh Freeman and Cindy Steele whom she loved dearly; three brothers, Hancel Mullins and his wife Wanda of Oakvale, Richard Mullins and his wife Shelby of Glenwood and Robert Mullins and his wife Darnell of Glenwood; two sisters, Freda Henderson of Princeton and Louise Worthington of Davy and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2007, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Randall Richards, Michael Blaylock, Robert Mullins, Richard Mullins Jr., Marty Mullins, Kelly Henderson Jr., Glenn Allen Mullins and Brian Worthington.

Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. today (Saturday).
