Rose Marie Tomcheck, age 86, (68 backwards), a lifetime resident of Two Rivers, died peacefully early Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 2014 at her residence, (in the same house that she was born in.)

Rose was born on April 11, 1928, daughter of the late Emil and Lillian (Hallada) Marek. She attended St. Luke's Catholic Grade School and Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1946. On May 9, 1953, she married Charles E. Tomcheck at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1998. Throughout the years Rose worked at the Metal Ware Corp., the Belle Shoppe, and Mirro Aluminum Company - where she retired from after 22 years. She was a longtime member of St. Luke's Catholic Church and currently St. Peter the Fisherman Parish; and a member of the VFW Post #1248 Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to the Oneida Casino and enjoyed her card club of over 66 years. Rose & Charlie also enjoyed many years of traveling together; square dancing, and the many trips to their cottages in Shoto and Door County.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Ted Herrmann of Two Rivers, Lori and Jerry Johanek of Green Bay; six grandchildren: Chuck and Olivia Herrmann, CO, Haley and Joe Gross, WA, Kayla and Tyler Vits, CA, Bill and Elizabeth Johanek, TX, Mike Johanek, Waupaca, Phillip and Amanda Johanek, Wausau; and three great grandchildren: Andrew, Erin, and Roman. She is further survived by one brother, Frank Marek of Two Rivers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Charlie, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Charles and Jeanette Tomcheck; one sister-in-law, June Marek; five brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Friday morning from 9:00 until 10:15 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
