William E. Anderson.

The above named died at his late residence on North McArthur street Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, of a complicated stomach trouble. Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

William Eugene Anderson was born Nov. 15, 1863, on his father's farm in Tennessee township. He removed to Macomb in 1880 to attend the Normal school of which he was a student for two years, after which he taught two terms of school. Since that time he has been engaged in various branches of business, being identified with the Macomb Music store for the past year. He was married to Annie L. Slade, July 1885. To them have been born five children, four boys and one girl, all of whom survive. He was a member of the I. O. M. A., carrying a $2,000 policy in that organization.

For a number of years he has been a sufferer of stomach trouble, but with wonderful fortitude he persisted in his work and had built up for the Macomb Music Store, of which he was proprietor, a lucrative business. For the past twelve weeks or more he has been confined to his bed and during all that time he bore his terrible sufferings patiently. Up to a few hours before his death he never gave up hope and was cheerful and jovial.

Monday afternoon a port mortem was held to definitely determine the nature of his trouble, although it was known to be an ailment of the stomach. It was found there was a cancerous tumor attached to the stomach, which eventually caused his death.

Deceased was a most excellent citizen, a good business man and a true friend. By his many excellent traits he earned a host of friends, who mourn his death and extend to his bereaved family their heartfelt sympathy.
