--Schuyler Levernue(sic) "John" Bean, 83, Hoover, died Monday, Nov. 21, 1983, in Woodlawn Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
--He was born in Cass County on Sept. 9, 1900, the son of Allen and Martha Hooper Bean. He married Nellie O. Azbell in Twelve Mile on March 16, 1919, and she died on April 29, 1982.
--Surviving are three daughters, Luella, wife of Leroy Beiswanger, Kendallville, June, wife of Voris Lowe, Macy, and Marybelle, wife of B. J. Bell, Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, William Lee Bean, Macy, and Ray Eugene Bean, Idaville; one brother, Herbert Bean, Logansport; two sisters, Rosa Mae Hale, New Port Richey, Fla., and Martha Pursch, Logansport; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Four sons, three sisters, three brothers, one grandson, and one great-grandson are deceased.
--Mr. Bean was a retired employee of North American Rockwell in Logansport. He was a member of the Hoover Community Church.
--Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in McCain Funeral Home, Denver, with the Rev. Ray Halterman officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Twelve Mile.
