On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Benny Thomas Mozo of Enterprise, Alabama passed away at the age of 81.

Ben was born in Gulf Hammock, Florida, to Roland Lee Mozo and Mae Bell Lewis Mozo on June 3, 1940. He was a graduate of Bronson High School, attended Berry College and held a degree in physics from the University of West Florida. He served in the Air Force for four years.

Ben married Barbara Kathleen Hines, the love of his life, in 1963. Together they raised three children, Becky Mozo-Adams (Bobby), Kathy Graydon (Jon), and Scott Mozo (Wendy). He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Enterprise for many decades.

He began his career at Cape Canaveral in 1963, and worked on the Saturn V program. A pioneer in hearing protection research and development, Ben worked tirelessly for many decades in the United States Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory at Fort Rucker. The family business, Communications and Ear Protection opened its doors in 1999, and he continued his great passion for hearing protection specializing in the research, development, and manufacture of devices largely used to protect the hearing of military pilots.

He is survived by Barbara, his devoted wife of 57 years, his three children, Becky Mozo-Adams (Bobby) Griffin Georgia, Kathy Graydon (Jon),Panama City, Florida, and Scott Mozo (Wendy), Dothan, Alabama; his grandchildren: Colby Mozo (Holli) Enterprise, Alabama, Thomas Adams, Columbus, Georgia, James Graydon (Kaitlyn), Enterprise, Alabama, Elizabeth Graydon-Haeghebaert (Emiel), Washington DC, and Ben Graydon, Panama City, Florida; and great-grandchildren Ryker and Quinn Mozo. He is also survived by Sara Mozo and Alene Mozo, sisters-in-law in Jacksonville, Florida.

A private graveside service will be held at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to Smile Train, P.O. Box 96231, Washington, D.C. 20090-6231 or Ferst Readers, P.O. Box 1327, Madison, Georgia, 30650.
