William T. (Bill) Reinert, age 83 of Two Rivers, passed away Tuesday morning, August 24, 2021 at Azura Memory Care in Manitowoc.

Bill was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on December 18, 1937 to William A. and Margaret (Mackenzie) Reinert. He grew up in Manitowoc attending local schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956. He attended the University of Oshkosh graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor's Degree in Upper Elementary Education. He was a member of the Iota Alpha Sigma Fraternity. He also earned graduate credits at UW Milwaukee and Alverno College.

On August 12, 1961, Bill married Phyllis Galikowski at St. John's Catholic Church (Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church) in Sobieski, Wisconsin.

Bill was a long-time 5th grade teacher starting his career in Grafton, Wisconsin and continuing for 30 more years in Two Rivers, WI. After his retirement in 1995, he served as a substitute teacher in the Two Rivers School District. During his career, Bill touched the lives of over 1,000 students and their families. He was a member of the Two Rivers Public School District Quarter Century Club and Past Treasurer of the Two Rivers Education Association, as well as a member of the Wisconsin Education Association (WEA) and National Education Association (NEA).

Bill was an active member of the Two Rivers Community having served as a member and past secretary of the Two Rivers TRIAD Committee; past member of the Senior Center Advisory Board of Directors and monthly volunteer; past Board member of the Two Rivers Historical Society; past member of the Supervising Board for Maritime-Riverwood Credit Union; and worked Election Polls for the City of Two Rivers. Bill also volunteered at the Two Rivers Historical Museum and at St. Peter the Fisherman Church. Bill enjoyed bowling, traveling, reading, Wisconsin Sports (Packers, Brewers, and Bucks) and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Phyllis; his son Gary Patrick Reinert (Lora Swiencicki-Reinert), Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Ann Margaret Duebner (Tom Duebner), Two Rivers; one grandson, Brian Duebner (special friend, Carly Tebo), Grantsburg, WI; sister, Marilee Murphy, Marion, Indiana; sister-in-law, Rita Moore, Green Bay, WI; and special friends, Steve and Gloria Neuenfeldt. He is also survived by 3 nephews and 2 nieces, as well as other close relatives.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Reinert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, I.J. and Jean Galikowski; 2 brother-in-laws, Patrick Murphy and Patrick Moore and good friend, Don Laedtke.

Funeral services will be held at 12 o'clock noon on Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Dave Pleier, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church on Friday, August 27th from 9:00 am until 11:45 am. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church website or St. Peter the Fisherman Facebook page, and Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.dejamartin.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Curran Spirituality Center (Denmark, WI), St. Vincent DePaul (Two Rivers, WI), or a charity of your choice.
