Angela Anna Casolaro passed away peacefully at Calvary Hospital on March 3, 2010. She was 99 years old. She was born in New York City to Ferdinand and Margherita Viglione. She married Nicholas Casolaro in 1940 and moved to Elmsford, where she lived until her death. Angela worked in the fashion industry in New York for several years, and as a homemaker for most of her life. She was an avid crafter who enjoyed knitting and sewing for her family and friends. She was also known for her fabulous traditional Italian cooking, and loved entertaining family and friends on holidays and during Sunday dinners. She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford for over seventy years. Angela was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1973. She is survived by her beloved children Marge Deitch of Tarrytown, Vincent of Elmsford and John of Pleasantville, NY. Also surviving are grandchildren Michael, Robert, Benjamin, Angela, and Justine Casolaro and great-granddaughter Leah Casolaro. Angela will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Family will receive mourners on Friday, March 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McElroy-Flynn Funeral Home in Elmsford, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Elmsford, NY. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
