She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years and the love of her life, Shelby Forehand; her parents, John Blue and Lois McCollough, a daughter, Sheri and an infant son, a grandson, Patrick Davenport II, and a sister Wauthena Mullins.
Charlotte was known lovingly by her family as "Mama Blue" and took great pride in hosting family holiday (especially Christmas) meals and celebrations for each birthday. She loved creating beautiful counted cross stitch designs making stockings and special gifts for family and friends. Even in the most difficult moments of the last several months, counted cross stitch occupied her time, planning special creations for upcoming babies and graduations.
Charlotte was born April 4, 1936, in Dothan, and resided there all her life. She attended and graduated from Dothan High School in 1954. After raising her children to school-age, she returned to college and earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Early Education from Troy State University. Charlotte was a third-grade teacher in the Dothan City School and retired after 20 years. She was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church and the AOY Sunday School Class. Her Sunday School Class and dear friends at Southside have always been an important support to her.
