Her early childhood was spent living in Oklahoma before returning to Topeka, Kansas. She attended the Topeka Public School system and left with one semester left of high at Topeka High School.
She met and married the love of her life, Samuel Allen Green when she was 18 years old. She became a housewife and she and Samuel raised their six kids on a farm in the east part of Topeka. At the age of 39, she became a widow losing Samuel to heart disease. She then finished her GED and entered nursing school where she graduated and became a LPN. She then became employed at St. Francis Hospital where she worked her entire nursing career until she retired.
Maralee was a member of Divine Love Christian Fellowship that was pastored by her brother Bishop Elbert E. Webber Sr., where she was a church mother.
Maralee will be remembered for her many hobbies such as gardening, sewing, crocheting, ceramics, cooking fabulous meals but, the most important thing that people loved about her is how she made everyone feel so welcomed.
Maralee was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Allen Green, her son Allen Edward Green Sr., her parents, Thomas and Bertha Webber, her sister, Florence Hite, and her brother, Curtis W. Webber.
She is survived by sons, Samuel L. Green (Dallas, TX), Thomas (Tommy) Green and Marvin L Green Sr. (Topeka,KS); daughters, Bertha "Biddie" (Gerald) Green-Thompson (Midwest City, OK) and Marva Green-Williams (Topeka, KS); brother, Bishop Elbert (Emma) E. Webber Sr. (Muskogee, OK), 21 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews who some were like her children after their parents passed and a lot of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Marlee has now joined her husband, Samuel who she has missed all of these years. She is at peace because she always talked about the day that she would be back with him would be a great celebration.
