Freda Lee Campbell, of Jasper, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Harrison at the age of 83.

She was born at Mount Judea, Arkansas on April 11, 1938, the second of six children to Burr and Viva (Greenhaw) McCutcheon. Freda was a lifelong resident of Newton County and attended Jasper and Bellefonte Church of Christ.

She was a hard worker, spending over 10 years at the Department of Finance and Administration-Revenue Office, and also secretary at Mount Judea School and bookkeeper for Campbell Brother's Lumber Company.

Freda took on the role of caregiver at an early age, beginning with helping raise her siblings and it was a role she easily continued when she married and had her own children and grandchildren. She was the center of her family circle and she loved each of them tremendously.

Freda loved cooking and spoiled her family with her homemade strawberry cake and chocolate gravy with flapjacks. She also loved shopping, decorating and working in her flower gardens. Freda loved to be pampered, particularly getting her hair and nails done. She enjoyed reading and watching PBR. She was an avid sports fan, especially of the Arkansas Razorbacks Basketball and Football teams, never missing a game on TV.

She was a sweet, loving spunky, kind-hearted mother, granny, sister and friend. Freda was a devoted wife of 64 years to her beloved "G" and they enjoyed cooking many meals alongside one another. She enjoyed spoiling her kids and grandkids, enjoying life and living every moment and memory to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, G.W. Campbell on December 20, 2020; two brothers, Burr Jr. McCutcheon and Wendell McCutcheon and a brother-in-law, Ray Campbell.

Freda is survived by her children, Jeannie Campbell and Kylan Campbell and wife Leah; her siblings, Billy Joe McCutcheon and wife Elizabeth, Glenda Sue Campbell and Dale McCutcheon and wife Debbie; her grandchildren, Chasitee Arthur and husband Hunter and their sons, Liam and Lincoln; Chelsie Floyd and husband Trent and their daughter, Ozie Mae; Kelyn Eddings and husband Dylan and their daughter, Tiegan Belle and Jonathan Jenkins and wife Peyton and their son, Rhett. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of extended relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, September 3, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Ray Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Sexton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Dale McCutcheon, Hunter Arthur, Trent Floyd, Dylan Eddings, Jonathan Jenkins and Robbie McCutcheon.
