He was born August 27, 1914 in Streator, a son of John and Anna (Dvorchak) Sokol. He married Katherine A. Brozak on June 1, 1938 at St. Stephen's Church with the late Msgr. Louis Biskupski officiating. She survives.
Also surviving are sisters: Mary (William) Dominic and Ann (Joseph) Harcharik, both of Streator, and Margaret (Alfred) Finefield of Pontiac; brothers: Bernard (Patricia) Sokol and Edward (Helen) Sokol, both of Streator, and Albert (Ellen) Sokol of Texas City, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Andrew A. Sokol and George Sokol.
He resided in Streator all of his life and retired from Owens-Illinois Glass. He and his wife also owned and operated Sokol's Greenhouse for over 40 years, retiring from that in 1997.
He was a member of St. Stephen's Church and St. Clement's Lodge.
