John Buford Dorton
IAEGER — John "Buford" Dorton, 70, of Iaeger, died at his residence Saturday, November 24, 2007 following a short illness.
Mr. Dorton was born February 5, 1937 in Daisy, Ky., a son of the late James Davidson and Thelma Mae Parsons Dorton. He was a coal truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. Also, he was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, three sisters, Ruby Rasnick, Marie Defuria, and Helen Ford preceded him in death.
Survivors include three brothers, Bruce Dorton and wife Betty of Princeton, Bernard Rudolph Dorton of Iaeger, and James Ron Dorton also of Iaeger; a special niece, Tammy Vest and husband Shawn of Princeton; a great niece, Jaime Vest also of Princeton; and special friends, Anthony Kennedy and wife Jennifer and their children, A.J. and Raven all of Paynesville, and Leonard Collins and wife Pam and their son Ryan of Litwar.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 12 noon, with the Reverend Jimmy Allen and the Reverend J.D. Kennedy officiating at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans' Honor Guard.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday morning, November 28, 2007 from 10 a.m. until time of service.
