On May 7, 2006, Karen Sue McCollum, 67, passed away at home in her sleep with her loved ones by her side after a long battle with cancer. Karen was born to Thurman Bronson and Bertha Juanita Ellison on December 9, 1938 in Electra, Texas. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1941 and worked in the medical field for 30 years before retiring. Karen was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed greatly by all of the lives she touched.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Gem McCollum; her parents; her brothers, Charles Allen Ellison; her sister, Chrissie Buhidar; her niece, Robbie Jane Chism; and two nephews, Delton Earl Certain and Charles Allen Ellison, II. She is survived by her two beloved sisters, Joy Hickmon and Jane Corkill; four nieces; a close family friend, Linda Trevino and extended family members who will always remember her love, laughter, and kindness
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2006 Seaside Memorial Park.
