Clyde enlisted in the US Army in April 1942 and was discharged in March 1946, having served during World War II. He was married on January 10, 1947 in Midland County, Michigan as the 3rd husband of Louise Norma (Woods) (Engel) Ball (1917-2004).
Living in Michigan, he was 89 years old and married when he passed away on September 1, 2001, and burial was in Homer Township Cemetery, Midland.
