Born in Brooklyn, New York, Rory was raised there and in Ireland until returning to Brooklyn many years later. He settled in Monroe Township in 2000. He was a Transportation Manager for Performance Food Group of Elizabeth since 2019. Prior to that, he held the same position with US Foods in Perth Amboy for more than 10 years. Rory was a fan of 80s music, Liverpool soccer, all pro sports, especially the New Jersey Devils and wrestling. He enjoyed long drives even if there wasn't a destination. He was a very loving husband, father and son and, as an only child, he adopted his in-laws as his own family. Rory was very proud of his Irish ancestry and loved to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and all the Irish holidays.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lucia O'Scannell; his children Shannon and Thomas O'Scannell; his parents Thomas and Lottie O'Scannell, and; all of his extended family member
