Harold J. Demell, 78, formerly of Kiel, died Friday morning September 3, 2021 at Tender Reflections, Manitowoc. He was born on April 26, 1943 in Mishicot son of Eleanor (Barta) Demell and the late George H. Demell. Harry was a graduate of Mishicot High School.

On April 25, 1964 he was united in marriage to Carol Havlichek in Two Rivers. Carol and Harry enjoyed nearly 50 years together before she preceded him in death on February 12, 2014. Harry was a dedicated employee of Tecumseh Products, New Holstein for 42 years until his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed stopping and socializing with friends, checking in on his packer pools and making sure he was signed-in. For many years he was an avid gardener and he especially enjoyed watching the birds.

Survivors include his children; Julie (Chris) Zipp, Jim (Terry) Demell, grandchildren; Anthony Pinchuk, Jessica Demell, Trevor (Amy) Zipp, Jared (Makayla) Zipp, Brianna Zipp (Andy Lemberger), two great grandchildren; Isabella Georgia, William Pinchuk. Harry is further survived by his mother; Eleanor Demell, brother; Frank (Sandy) Demell, sister; Carol (Rod) Clark, brother-in-law; Michael Lichterman, sister-in-law; Janet (Richard) Tuma.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife; Carol, father; George, sister; Mary Lichterman and his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Anton & Helen Havlichek.

Funeral Services for Harry will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday September 7, 2021 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home (815 6th St. Kiel) A visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of services at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.

Harry's family would like to thank his sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Rod Clark and close friends Tom and Tammy for all the rides to doctor appointments, shopping trips, their friendship and visits and for helping Harry in so many ways. They would also like to thank Tender reflections for the compassionate care they gave to Harry and for Heartland Hospice for keeping him comfortable in his last days.
