She was born in Arista, W.Va., on Dec. 4, 1936, to Dennis and Maycil Wiley.
She married Robert C. Smith on Aug. 5, 1978, while he was stationed in the Army at Fort Belvoir, Va. She spent the next 15 years traveling and living around the world as a military spouse.
She moved to Sheridan, her husband's hometown, in 1993 when he retired from the Army.
She had many jobs as she moved around, including assistant commissary manager, credit union manager and most recently, Sheridan manager and driver for Express Shuttle. This most recent job brought much joy to her life as she thoroughly loved driving and the friendship she gained with her fellow drivers and the railroad employees.
She loved camping, fishing, bingo and the occasional trip to Deadwood.
Survivors include her husband, a sister, Lois Wiley of Rich Creek, Va.; two brothers, Dennis Wiley of Rich Creek, Va., and Jerry Wiley of Mullens, W.Va., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry E. Wiley.
She loved all animals, so memorials may be made in her name to the Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 E. Ridge Rd., Sheridan, 82801.
Interment take place in her hometown of Rich Creek, Va.
