Sarah Bob Arthur, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Matthew C. Arthur.

Born in Fitzgerald, Georgia, Mrs. Arthur was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. R.M. Ware.

Mrs. Arthur graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1952 and attended Wesleyan Conservatory. A 1956 graduate of the University of Georgia, she taught fourth grade at Miller Elementary School and in the Gifted Program for the Houston County Board of Education until retiring in 1990.

As a gifted musician and lover of the arts, Mrs. Arthur was active in the Warner Robins Community Concert Association and always enjoyed attending musicals and plays at Northside High School. For over 28 years, she played the piano and organ at Trinity United Methodist Church where she was also a member and a teacher of Disciple Bible Studies. She served as District President of the United Methodist Women of Georgia.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling. She and her late husband made many trips across the United States and Europe in their retirement years. She was also an avid football fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Northside Eagles. Though not able to attend the games in recent years, she rarely missed watching the games or listening to them on the radio.

Mrs. Arthur is survived by her children, Nancy Lynn Arthur of Warner Robins, Matt (Margie) Arthur of Lakemont, Georgia, and Lane (Jackie) Arthur of Grimes, Iowa. She has five grandchildren, Dr. Jessica (Terry) English of Charleston, South Carolina, Meagan (Sawyer) Pettit of Littleton, Colorado, Jonathan (Courtney) Arthur of Worcester, Massachusetts, Sarah Catherine Arthur of Waukee, Iowa, Will (Jessica) Arthur of Urbandale, Iowa, and one great granddaughter, Annalyn Grace Arthur.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Cook and Pastor Hugh Davis officiating. Afterward, Mrs. Arthur will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens at a private graveside service.
