Norbert was born to Wilson Chee Adakai and Elaine Lozeau, lived in the Blackfoot area for most of his life and graduated from Snake River High School. He later took courses in auto body, paint, and repair at Springdale Job Corp Center in Troutdale, OR. On February 5, 1997 he married Stephanie Adakai in Blackfoot, Idaho. They later divorced but remained together for 25 years. Norbert worked as a contractor escort at INEL. Norbert enjoyed getting together with other "mudders" tearing it up in the mountains. His children and grandchildren were his utmost concern and love. Survived by his companion, Stephanie Adakai of Blackfoot; children, Eric Stone of Pocatello, Karen Adakai, Chelse McDonald, Wilson Adakai, and Eddy Stone all of Blackfoot; Son-in-law Derrick Weimer, siblings, Norman Adakai of Blackfoot, Jaylee Tendoy of Fort Hall, Raymond Adakai of Ohio, Tina Marie Noren of Virginia, Melissa Adakai of Idaho Falls, Laura Moon of Blackfoot, Steven Adakai of Blackfoot, Tammy Leavitt of Riverside, and Joseph Adakai of Blackfoot; and half brother, Gardell Adakai of Fort Hall. Also surviving are his grandchildren Syrissa, Hennessie, Tieson, Cyric, Byntlee, X'Zavier, Dre, Emerick, Alric and Arlo; precedied by his parents; and brothers, Harold and Jerry Sookum.
