Sara Jones Murray, age 86, passed away on January 18, 1990 of Pneumonia.


Born July 22, 1903 in Wellsville (Cache County), Utah a daughter of Daniel Walters and Martha Haslam Jones. She married Henry D. Murray on December 26, 1926 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died on January 13, 1930. Devoted member of the LDS Church, serving in the Mutual Improvement and Sunday School organizations in both Ward and Stake capacities. Employed by Thatcher Brothers Bank in Logan, Utah and was office manager of Morning Milk Company prior to moving to Salt Lake City in 1936 where she was employed by Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company for 32 years until her retirement on May 18, 1968. Since her retirement, she has kept her keen mind active in Mountain Bell's Pioneer Organization, current events, and as a loving, supportive Aunt to her nieces and nephews.


She is survived by one brother, Ferris H. Jones and one sister, Eva Cowan, both of Salt Lake City; four nephews, five nieces, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Hubbard.


Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 22, 1990 at 12 noon at the Capitol Hill 2nd Ward Chapel, 413 West Capitol Street, where friends may call on Monday one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.
