Marilyn M. Hensel, 92, of Logansport, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021.

Born on November 23, 1928 in Logansport, IN, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gladys (Murphy) Schiele.

On August 3, 1957 in Logansport, IN, she was married to Dean Frederick Hensel Sr, who preceded her in death on October 22, 1979.

Marilyn was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had lovingly cared for the building as the church custodian for many years. As a mother of six, she had a tremendous work ethic not only as a homemaker but in the many places she worked over the years, including the Pharos Tribune, General Tire, Polsinelli's and Keller's.

Marilyn was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed mowing her yard and even at age 92, Marilyn would have been ready to climb a ladder if someone needed help painting. She loved dogs and cats and had many of her own, as well as grand-dogs and grand-kitties over the years.

Surviving are six children; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren with.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by one grandson, David Hensel; one brother, Donald Schiele; and three sisters - Norma Schiele, Betty Miles and Dorothy McGrath.

A memorial service celebrating Marilyn's life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 97 East Market St., Logansport with Pastor David Smith officiating. The VFW Ladies Auxiliary will conduct memorial rites at the start of the service.

Interment will follow in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park.

Friends will be received from 10 AM until 11 AM on Thursday at the church.
