Marlene E .Cathcart ,age 80, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home onTuesday December 22,2015 at GoldenL iving Center, Three Oaks, Marshfield. She was born September 13,1935 in Blackwell, Forest County, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Clyde and Bernice(Pacourek) Strebe. Marlene lived on a farm near Milan and went to a country school from first through thirdgrade. At age nine, she moved to Marshfield and lived with her grandparents from fourth gradet hrough graduation from Marshfield High School in 1953. Marlene liked school, was on the National Honor Society and received a Miller scholarship award.She was a four year graduate of UW Stevens Point, receiving her degree in Medical Technology. Marlene enjoyed her work and received praise from those she worked for. Marlene married Lyle Cathcart on June 8, 1957 in the Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford. They lived inPhillips, Wisconsin, Indiana, Warren and Franklin, Pennsylvania. Upon retirement they moved to Marshfield in October of1 992. Marlene was a wonderful
traveler and their retirement years were spent traveling the country by car and tour bus. Survivors include her husband Lyle, two sons; Daniel(Beth)Louisville, KY andGregory, Franklin, PA, one granddaughter; Emily,Louisville,KY, five brothers; Jerry(Joanne) Sheboygan Falls, Dale (Janice)Marshfield, Ronald(Jeanne)Shawano, James, Royal Oak,MI, and Galen(Shannon)Madison, numerous and dearly thought of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial servicew ill be held at 11:00 am Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E .Veterans Parkway, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
