James L. Clark, 80, of Minong, passed away Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Spooner Nursing Home surrounded by his family.

James was born April 15, 1926 in Fowler, Indiana to the late Leonard and Olive (Ulm) Clark.

James married Norma Lund on April 29, 1958 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Dunde, Ill. She preceded him in death July 11, 1995.

James was employed for several different construction companies during his career as a superintendent. He retired in 1991 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. James was the oldest living member of the Carpenters Union Local #1143 of LaCrosse. He lived in Minong for 40 years. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, watching his favorite football team the Chicago Bears and spending time with his family.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his three sons: Russ Clark of Chippewa Falls, Scott (Dee Ann) Clark of Bloomington, Minn., Kelly (Sheila) Clark of Spooner; three daughters: Hallie (Gary) Christman, of Barron, Mariann Lee and Kent Jones of Trego, Nanci Carrothers of Hammond, Ind.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one son, Lance Corporal Randy Clark of the U.S. Marines in 1983, and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 21, at the Brown Funeral Home in Minong. Father James Kinney will officiate. Visitation is 4 – 7 p.m., Wed., Dec. 20, at the Funeral Home in Minong. Private family burial will be at a later date.
