Angelo R. "Peachy" Mariucci, 83, of Olyphant, originally from Jessup died Wednesday evening at AseraCare Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Mid-Valley Hospital after a courageous battle with respiratory illness. His wife was the former Stella Zwicharowski who died in 1997. Born in Jessup he was the son of the late Angelo and Lena Generotti Mariucci. He graduated from Jessup High School and attained a CPA from Lackawanna Junior College. He was a self employed accountant and owner/operator of Angelo Mariucci Accounting Company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII who served in Japan in the Philippine Islands
He resided most of his life in Jessup before moving to Olyphant, where he lived for the last five years. He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church Jessup and had been very active in the St. Ubaldo Society in his youth, having held the honor of swordsman. He played in Jessup softball leagues for years and had been a member of Elkview Country Club. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and bowler who enjoyed watching golf, the Pittsburg Steelers, and his beloved New York Yankees. His dog Cody was his constant companion and his pride and joy and sunshine of his life were his grandchildren, Dante Vincent and Gianna Stella.
