Hartland – Alice M. Brawn, 93, passed away Oct. 27, 2005, in Hartland at Sanfield Manor Rehab and Living Center. She was born July 23, 1912, in Hartland, the daughter of Harry and Emma (Welch) Springer.
She attended Hartland Academy in Hartland. She worked at the woolen mill in Hartland and at Baxter Canning in Hartland. She later met and married the late William Brawn Feb. 2, 1935. She was a member of the Grace Linn United Methodist Church in Hartland, she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, cooking, knitting afghans, making and selling May Baskets, playing cards and going out to eat.
Alice is survived by one son, Hugh Brawn and his wife; two daughters, Roberta Mower and Carolyn Furbush and her husband; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, William in November 1989; one son, Harland two brothers Charles and Henry; and one sister, Eva.
Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Grace Linn United Methodist Church, Seekins Street, Hartland. Funeral services will follow 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the church. Burial will be noon Monday, Oct. 31, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland. Arrangements are under the direction of Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, 35 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield, ME 04967.
