William Devine, age 80, a former resident of Chicago and for the past two years living in DeKalb, passed away this morning, January 3, 1959 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
He has been living at the home of his sister, Margaret at 1024 East Locust Street in DeKalb.
Mr. Devine was born in Sterling on September 10, 1878 the son of John and Ellen Devine.
He lived in Chicago for many years where he was engaged in sales work.
His wife, the former Nellie Donnelly, passed away in 1931.
His death is mourned by three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Lynch of DeKalb, Mrs. William Aldrich of DeKalb and Margaret of DeKalb; two brothers, Edward of DeKalb and John of Sterling.
Friends may call from Sunday evening on at the Wirtz Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Vincent Cottam officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeKalb..
