J. Fred Crouse, 81, of Holbrook, died at 5 a.m. Friday, March 5, 1960, after a lingering illness.
He was born November 24, 1878, in Center Township, a son of Enos G. Crouse and Mary Elizabeth Bennett Crouse.
In 1899, he married Ruth Ina Lightner, who survives.
Mr. Crouse was employed for a number of years as a telephone lineman and in later years engaged in farming. He resided most of his life in Center Township and was a member of the Holbrook Chirstian Church.
Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, A. F. (Tony) Crouse, of Rogersville; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Alice Throckmorton, of Rogersville.
