W. R. Hull, a former well known resident of Boone County, died at his home in Van Wert, Decatur County, Iowa, Sunday, Nov. 29, 1908. Mr. Hull was born in Schuyler County, Missouri in the summer of 1844, and was sixty four years old at the time of his death.
In 1847, when he was only three years old, his parents moved to Boone county, Iowa, and settled in Worth township, near where the Meadow Grove church now stands. Here his father, Nathan Hull, improved a farm on which he spent the remainder of his life. On this farm Riley, as W.R. was always called, grew to manhood and continued to reside until about ten years ago.
In 1867 he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Doran, and unto them two sons were born. In 1873 Mrs. Hull died, leaving Mr. Hull and the two little boys to mourn her loss.
In 1878 he was again married to Miss Margaret Bowman. After living together about ten or twelve years they separated and Mrs. Hull moved to Oregon and Mr. Hull disposed of his interests in Boone County, and located, first to Madison County, Iowa and later to Decatur County.
About two years ago he was married to a lady at Bolivar, Missouri, where they resided until last spring, when they moved to Van Wert, Decatur County, Iowa. About two months after the last movement, Mrs. Hull died, leaving him alone. Mr. Hull's health had not been good for some time and on Sunday evening the end came.
The remains were brought upon the train Monday evening, and on Tuesday they were laid to rest in the Hull cemetery near the old home of his boyhood. A large gathering of relatives and friends followed him to his last resting place. Peaceful be his rest.
