Sylvia M. Edler, 97, formerly of : 2908 Michigan Ave., a resident of l-t Greendale Health Care Center, died there, on Sunday, July 6, 1997.
Bom Dec. 23, 1899 in Sheboygan, Sylvia was a daughter of the late Fred and Emma Adam Burhop.
On June 28, 1923, she married Edgar H. Hall.
On Sept. 21, 1957, she married George Edler. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1966.
Sylvia was a representative for Goodwill Industries for eight years, until her retirement in 1970. She had previously worked for Northern Furniture Co. and Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of First United Lutheran Church. She was a member and past president of G.A.R., an American Red Cross volunteer for 25 years and a member of Royal Neighbors.
She was recognized for her many years of volunteer work and enjoyed music, readling and gardening.
Sylvia is survived by two children, Aileen (Russell) Solheim, Waverly, lowa; Kenneth (Maxine) Hall, Green Bay, Wis; ten grandchildren, June (Mike) Salemi, Sandra Vanden Branden, Daniel Hall, Richard (Lynn) Solheim, Charles (Jane) Solheim, Virginia (Tom) Halliwell, Dennis (Melba) Solheim, David (Jean) Solheim, Ken Solheim and Keith (Mila) Solheim; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Aggen, Manitowoc, Wis.; further survived by four step-children, Arthur (Delilah) Edler, Howards Grove; Eugene Edler, Sheboygan; LaVerne Gerl, , Appleton, Wis.; Bernadine (Delbert) Kuester, Sheboygan; other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a great-great-grandson, Timothy Solheim; her sister, Viola Freimund and brother, Edgar Burhop.
Funeral services for Sylvia will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, at First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Dr. The Rev. Karl J. Nelson, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in Garden Terrace Mausoleum of Lutheran Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are welcome at the CHURCH, on Wednesday, after 9:30 a.m.
