ELYRIA -- Mary K. Brown (nee McClain), 83, of Elyria, died Sunday, April 6, 2002, at Lodi Community Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 1, 1919, in Cleveland. She had also lived in Bay Village and Lakewood. Mrs. Brown loved to travel.
Survivors include her son, Jim Kirkland of Elyria; daughter, Judy Couchey of Westfield Center; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Vivian Van Slyke of Buffalo, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Myron Kirkland; second husband, Robert T. Brown, in 1988; and her parents, Walter and Lauren (nee Suhr) McClain.
Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Leroy United Methodist Church, 6777 Park Circle, Westfield Center. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Wakeman Cemetery.
