Funeral services for James Edward Holt, 59, of Leesville was held Monday, November 26, 2007 at East Leesville Baptist Church with Revs. Gil Arthur, Duryl R. Davis and John Burns officiating.
Burial followed in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville.
Mr. Holt was a lifelong resident of the Leesville area, and a member of the East Leesville Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the American Legion 145 and enjoyed outdoor sports such as: hunting, fishing, LSU and the Saints.
Holt will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.
Holt leaves to cherish his memory one daughter; Lindsay Holt of Leesville, two sons; Chris Holt of Texas and Michael Holt and wife Debra of Leesville; six sisters; two brothers; eight grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Essie Cantrell and Rev. Joe Holt of Leesville; one sister and six brothers.
Active pallbearers were Ryan Holt, David Holt, John Casarez, Gerald Bordelon, Travis Baier and Chuck Gee.
Honorary Pallbearers were Asa Skinner, Bruce Cryer and James Hagan.
