Eugene Farrel Asher, 90, widower of Mary Lois Asher, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was born in Knox County, Kentucky on March 25, 1931, to the late Helder and Maude Asher.

After graduating from the University of Kentucky, Eugene worked for the state of Kentucky as a Soil Conservationist. Eugene enjoyed life, playing baseball and tennis, and cooking for family and friends brought him great joy. He was loyal, steadfast, and true to his word. Always being there for his family, Eugene passed along his faith and belief that this life will soon pass, only what you do for Christ will last.

Eugene left a lasting imprint on all his family, especially his daughter and granddaughter. He was a peacemaker in every situation. He was a soft-spoken role model to all survivors including a daughter, Elizabeth Corey Bradshaw, and also his granddaughter, Ashlynn Rose Bradshaw. He is also survived by His brother, Roy and his wife Barbara Asher, living in Versailles, Kentucky, their children David Asher, his wife Joy, and Karen and her husband Greg Marsee, along with his sister, Helen Rhodes, living in New Haven, Indiana and her son Eddie and his niece Teri Browning. He was preceded in death by brothers, Clem Asher, Earl Asher and Willard Asher, and sisters, Pauline Baker and Louise Mills, and by his brother in law, Curt Corey whose wife Vena Lou survives. Also surviving are their children John Curt, Debbie Patterson and Cindy Hildebrand along with Donnie and Judy Chesnut, their children Corey, Angie Young, Ginger Adams and grandchildren, his sister in law Faye Terrell and his niece Karen Shanks and her son Mark Rogers.

The funeral service will be conducted at 6PM Monday, September 20, 2021, at Anchor Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky with Dr. Carl Peters officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Monday at the church. Graveside services will be conducted at 1PM Tuesday at the New Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Barbourville, Kentucky.
