Railway Company President. A native of Wales, he came to America with his parents when he was a child. He was the oldest son of Evan Price, a wealthy Welsh immigrant. He grew up in Cincinnati and married Sarah Matson on December 9, 1824. He first entered business as a brick manufacturer with a brickyard he layed out on Bold Face Hill in Cincinnati along with a sawmill and a residential subdivision. Locals referred to the hill as Price's Hill and later it became known as Price Hill. Later in his life, he organized the Price Hill Inclined Railway Company and started construction on the inclined plane in 1872. He sons, John and William, saw the project completed in 1879 after their father's death. Price died in 1877 at his residence in the neighborhood on the west side of Cincinnati that was named for him. Rees was known as General Price for most of his life.
