BLUEFIELD, Va. — Elsie V. Brinkley, 75, of 103 Jones Street, Bluefield, Va. (Abbs Valley), died Monday, November 26, 2007 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield.
Born in Abbs Valley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence Nunley and Viola Presley Nunley. She was a Teacher's Aide for 30 years in the Tazewell County School System. She was a member of the Abbs Valley Church of God, Abbs Valley, Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: Husband, Preston "Pat" Brinkley; one son: Gene Brinkley; one granddaughter: Le Anne Fore; a stepfather: Everett Hess.
Survivors: Two daughters: Patty Asbury and husband, June and Karen Fore and husband, Mike, both of Abbs Valley, Va.; two sons: Joe Brinkley and wife, Janet, Bland, Va. and Michael Brinkley and fiancée Christine Townsend, Abbs Valley; six brothers: John Nunley, Riverside, Calif., Herbert Hess and wife, Sally, Springville, Va., Everett Hess Jr., Athens, Tenn., Jack Hess and wife, Mary Ellen, Welch, Pal Hess and wife, Joann, Bridgewater, Va., Paul Hess and wife, Rose, Athens, Tenn.; three sisters: Linda Lambert and husband, Willard, Leckie, Norma Smith and husband, Ron, Abbs Valley, Va. and Velva Hicks, Springville, Va.; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Abbs Valley Church of God, Abbs Valley, Va. with the Rev. Frank Stanley and the Rev. W.O. Myers officiating. Burial will follow at the Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield, Va.
