Frank served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a Rifle Marksman and earned the National Defense Metal. He worked in his early years with the family on their dairy farm, "N.B. Comer and Son's Dairy." He worked many years and retired from Drummond Coal as a Master Mechanic Supervisor. He enjoyed racing cars and he won State Championship Drag Racing.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, N.B. Comer and Nellie Comer; three brothers, Edward Comer, David Comer, and William Comer, and one grandson, Mason Comer.

Frank is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Comer; three sons, Greg Comer and his wife Marti, Lloyd Pope, and Heath Pope; three grandchildren, Chanda Pope, Stormy Pope and Samantha Pope; two great grandchildren, Julian Bartlett and Adrian Pope; many other family members and a host of friends.
