Box 280, Duffield, VA; and formerly of Bluefield, WV; died on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Ridgecrest Manor in Duffield, VA; from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in August of 1996. Born on April 22, 1974 in Bluefield, WV; she was a daughter of Danny L. Nelson of Bluefield, WV; and Ellen R. Dinger Hurt of Bluefield, WV.
She had been a resident of Duffield, VA; since her accident and was formerly employed by TurnerVision in Bluewell, WV. She was a 1992 graduate of Bluefield High School, Bluefield, WV; was a member of the National Honor Society; and had received numerous outstanding academic achievements. She also participated in several service organizations.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, William L. Nelson and Kyle Dinger; and her great-grandparents, Rosa and Fred Lambert and Lora Bailey. Survivors include father, Danny L. Nelson of Bluefield, WV; mother, Ellen R. Dinger Hurt of Rt. 3, Bluefield, WV; one sister, Crystal "Hurt" Battle of Kannapolis, N.C.; paternal grandmother, Edna M. Nelson of Bluefield, WV; maternal grandmother: Ruth Dinger of Bluefield, WV; one niece, Jecyra Battle; one nephew, Jaedon Fitzpatrick.
Funeral services conducted on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, WV; with the Rev. Greg Kinzer officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, WV; where Andy, Mike and Todd Patton, Wayne Dinger, Ronald Mullins, and Donald Mullins will serve as pallbearers.
