Roland "Keith" Daniels, 83, of rural Redfield, Kansas, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott, Kansas.

He was born July 6, 1924, in Bronson, Kansas, the son of John and Ruby (Huff) Daniels. He was graduated from Bronson High School and attended Fort Scott Community College.

He was married to Patricia Ellen Potter April 3, 1946, in Iola, Kansas.

He was a World War II veteran serving as chief mechanic and gunner on B-24 Bomber airplanes in the Army/Air Force.

He had farmed since 1946 and was self employed as a cattleman and rancher.

He was a member of Mount Orum Baptist Church, Kansas Livestock Association, and American Legion. He and his wife received a Grassland Conservation Award in 2000 for their efforts on their 1,100 acre ranch.

He is survived by his wife of the home; four daughters, Linda Wilson and her husband Lafe, Uniontown, KS, Peggy Hall, Redfield, KS, Nancy Pruitt and her husband, Roger, Fulton, KS, and Jan Kraft and her husband Dave, Gridley, KS; a sister, Judy Flanegin, Greenfield, IA; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A son, Michael David, two brothers, Delbert and Stump, and a grandson, Michael Pruitt, died earlier.

The Rev. Ron Murrow will officiate the funeral services at Cheney Witt Chapel in Fort Scott, KS. Burial will follow in the Paint Creek Cemetery (also known as Marion Cemetery)near Redfield, Kansas.
